Michael,
I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed your “From Slave to Soldier” presentation with the Solano County Genealogical Society. You touched me so with the photo. I, too, had an experience that I did not think I was going to become emotional over and that was a family reunion held at the Upton, Maine Ladies Aid Building. While I didn’t know many folks (I live in CA) when asked to introduce myself, I was shaking. Those were my people there. So I instantly connected to you and your photo. Again, thanks for the wonderful presentation.

Thank you! I appreciate your comments very much! It’s a wonderful feeling when you are in an unfamiliar environment, but instantly feel at home, isn’t it? Roots run DEEP! Thank you for sharing and it was my pleasure to present to SCGS! Look forward to doing it again if you all wish.
